1. Overview

SharpSportsAI ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address and an encrypted password hash, created when you sign up.
  • Usage data: matchups you analyze, the AI analyses we generate for you, and counters used to enforce free-tier limits.
  • Billing data: if you upgrade, Stripe (our payment processor) collects your payment details. We only store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status — we never see your card number.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) used for security and abuse prevention.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide the SharpSportsAI service (sign-in, generate analyses, enforce limits).
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
  • To communicate essential service messages (e.g. payment receipts).

4. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

We process your data under the following lawful bases: (a) contract — to deliver the service you signed up for; (b) legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and improve it; (c) legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and law-enforcement requests.

5. We do not sell your data

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Period.

6. Sub-processors

We share data only with the providers strictly required to run the service: Supabase (database & auth hosting), Stripe (payments), and Anthropic (the AI model that produces analyses). These providers are bound by their own GDPR-compliant data-processing agreements.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records).

8. Your rights

Under GDPR / UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@sharpsportsai.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the UK ICO or your local EU data-protection authority.

9. Cookies

We use only strictly-necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Children

SharpSportsAI is not for anyone under 21 in the US or under 18 in the UK. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be notified by email or via the dashboard.
